Anorexia nervosa (AN) affects 0.9–4% of women and 0.3% of men and is understudied compared to other psychiatric conditions, despite having one of the highest mortality rates and long-term morbidity. Here, we examined the relationship between brain abnormalities in patients with an early-onset form of anorexia and stage of re-nutrition, and quantified brain similarity with other psychiatric disorders.
